Danone Southeast Asia Brings Health Through Food to Communities Across the Region on Danone Day
Danone Southeast Asia (SEA) marked this year’s Danone Day by taking its purpose beyond the workplace and into local communities through its annual “Feet on the Street” initiative. Across Thailand, Malaysia, Cambodia, and Vietnam, Danoners came together to engage with consumers, customers, healthcare stakeholders, and government partners, reinforcing Danone’s mission of bringing health through food to as many people as possible.
A key focus of this year’s activities was raising awareness and supporting efforts to address Iron Deficiency Anaemia (IDA), a significant public health challenge that places an estimated one in three children in the region at risk. Through partnerships, education, and community outreach, Danone teams across Southeast Asia contributed to improving awareness, prevention, and early detection of IDA.
In Thailand, Danone partnered with the Department of Medical Services to support early detection efforts by contributing non-invasive screening devices for children. The initiative reflects a shared commitment to advancing child health outcomes through accessible and preventive healthcare solutions.
In Malaysia, employees engaged directly with local communities through educational activities and non-invasive anaemia screenings. The team also served nutritious milk to approximately 500 children in a single day, helping to promote healthy growth and development while increasing awareness of the importance of iron intake among families.
Meanwhile, in Cambodia, Danone launched the School Food Safety Campaign under the theme “Child Health & Iron” with the support of the Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports. The campaign aims to strengthen awareness of nutrition and food safety among students, educators, and parents, while highlighting the important role of iron in a child’s growth and cognitive development.
Beyond health advocacy, Danone teams in Vietnam spent time engaging closely with customers and consumers to gather valuable on-the-ground insights. These interactions will help strengthen Danone’s outside-in approach, enabling the company to better understand evolving consumer needs and continue delivering relevant nutrition solutions through brands such as Aptamil.
Recognising that its impact begins with its people, Danone also dedicated part of Danone Day to employee wellbeing and development. Across the region, Danoners participated in experiential learning sessions, health and wellness activities, and opportunities to connect with colleagues, reflecting the company’s commitment to fostering a healthy, inclusive, and purpose-driven workplace culture.
Through its Danone Day initiatives, Danone continues to bring together employees, partners, and communities in pursuit of a shared goal: improving health through food and making a meaningful difference in the lives of people across the region.
